Katharina Eckert

Katharina Eckert has studied exercise and sportscience focussed mainly on prevention/rehabilitation. in Heidelberg (Germany), Karlsruhe (Germany) and Brighton (UK).
After finishing her studies, she worked at a rehabilitation centre for two years. Since 2005, she has been employed by the Heidelberg University, working under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Gerhard Huber in the Department for Health and Physical Activity. In this context, she was involved in different research projects, primarily in the field of motor development and potential health benefits of physical activity in young children. In 2008, she received her Ph.D. (Doctorate in philosophy; Sport Science) in this area.
Additional research interests include health promotion, worksite health promotion and exercise & ageing.
